Never too early. Never too late.
Scripture - Lamentations 3: 25-26
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”
”If I have to wait one more minute and what’s taking so long? I ain’t got time to wait!
Sounds familiar, right?
Oh but you do honey. You wait for something or someone and sometimes it’s downright disrespectful that it’s taking too long. Time is valuable and once it’s gone… it’s gone. This is precisely why it’s unnerving when we have to go with God‘s timing because we “think” God takes delight in making us wait. But we should remember, God is outside of time so it doesn’t bother Him that we wait. We’re the ones with the issue. But, Lamentations 3:26 says it’s good to wait. Not only wait but do it quietly. OUCH!
To God, whether it’s a day or a thousand years, whenever He shows up for us, He’s never too early nor too late. Therefore, we should do our best to seek a godly perspective of waiting.
So, how do you wait on God‘s timing?
Do you worship or worry while you wait? Worrying will only perpetuate the anxiety we sometimes feel during the wait and turn our focus to other things besides God. It would behoove us to catch on quickly that our lives aren’t extended any longer by worrying (Matthew 6:27). So here’s how to turn worry into worship during the wait.
No matter what, hope for His best and simply believe God is good. God is good. His ways are good. Even his timing is good. That is something to look forward to as we wait, knowing the results will be good for us.
Trust God. There is always evidence you can trace back over your life when God came through at the right time. Trust that He will come through again and His word will not return void.
Thank God. In the middle of waiting on God, take the time to stop and thank Him for what He’s already done. An appreciative heart spurns on faith to wait because you’re no longer focused on waiting. Instead, you’re thanking Him for taking special care to perfect what He’s preparing.
Worship over worry makes the wait even sweeter when it finally arrives, so, what can you worship God for right now while you wait?
And remember, everything you need is ATHOH!
