Love On a Whole New Level

Lord, please help me to experience your love at a whole new level.

Expand my understanding of how much you love me and expand my ability to receive your love. Expand my ability to extend love to others but most of all Lord, teach me to love.

Lord I only love because you love me first (1 John 4:19) and most time I fall short of that because my emotions and motives aren't always in check. Please forgive me for misusing the love that you have given me. Let your love move me beyond me.

Lord, teach me how to love myself. Show me ways I can love myself better. Give me a pure and positive outlook about myself. I wholeheartedly accept that I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps 139:14) and that you love me with an everlasting love (Jer 31:3).

Lord, change the way that I love. I don't want my love to be one-sided. Let me love like Christ loves the church. Let my love be a passionate and caring love for myself and others. Don't let my love for others become a routine kind of thing. But let it always be renewed and refreshed. Let others know I belong to you because of my love for them.

Lord, help me to be patient and kind as I love others. Never let me become prideful or boast in myself but only in you. Keep me from dishonor and self-seeking ways. Temper my anger with love and keep me always forgiving. Protect me from evil and let me rejoice over the truth (1 Cor 13:4-6). Transform me with a love that always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always, always perseveres. I declare my love never fails (1 Cor 13:7-8).

So, God, I thank you that your love for me is so wide, long, and deep (Eph 3:18) that you gave your only son for me to believe in and now I have eternal life because of how much you love me (John 3:16). I love you with all my heart soul mind and strength. And just as I love myself, I will love others equally the same.
