Help Me Judge Well

Lord, help and teach me to seek, understand, and rely on your spirit.

Help me to understand right from wrong and the truth from lies. Holy Spirit, increase my spiritual discernment. Lord, I desire to know your voice (John 10:27). Oh, how I long to know your voice as a sure thing. There are times that I need clarity on what you are saying to me and other times when I need to trust my inner spirit to judge things rightly. I don't want to rely on my understanding. Instead, I will trust in you with all of my heart and acknowledge you so that you can direct my path (Prov 3:5).

So, Jesus, I am asking that you draw near to me and draw me ever so close to you (James 4:8) so that I may make decisions that honor you. There are things I can only understand through spiritual discernment. So, help me to accept the things you are showing me, Lord.

Even as I speak to others and talk to strangers, God I'm asking that you give me a discerning heart to relate, influence, lead, and encourage your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. I can't do this on my own, so I need you to be with me every step of the way to illuminate the path I walk on each day (Ps 119:105).

Lord, I desire to know what pleases you (Eph 5:10) so transform me through the renewing of my mind so I can test and approve what your will is, your good pleasing and perfect will (Rom 12:2).
